Mumbai train bombings - series of seven bomb blasts that took place over a period of 11 minutes on the Suburban Railway in Mumbai , capital city of the Indian province of Maharashtra and the nation's financial capital.The bombs were set off in pressure cookers on trains plying the Western line of the Suburban Railway network.the bombings were carried out by Lashkar-e-Toiba and Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI)

With more than 10 coordinated shooting and bombing attacks across Mumbai by terrorists[5][6] who invaded from Pakistani seawaters,The terrorists who carried out the reconnaissance before the attacks later stated that the attacks were conducted with the support of Pakistan's secret service, the ISI.
Number of Causalities :-
11 July 2006 - 210 people lost their lives and over 714 were injured.
26 November 2008 - 164 people died & at least 308 injured.

26 November 2008 - Eight of the attacks occurred in South Mumbai: at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, the Oberoi Trident, the Taj Mahal Palace & Tower,Leopold Cafe, Cama Hospital (a women and children's hospital), the Nariman House Jewish community centre, the Metro Cinema and a lane behind the Times of India building and St. Xavier's College.
Trial in court :-
11 July 2006 - The accused have still not been brought to the justice ,The trial began in December 2007 after 13 people were arrested and charged under Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA). But the special court is very far from a verdict with witnesses still being examined.
26 November 2008 - The trails had been carried out in 3 countries - India , USA & Pakistan.
India - Kasab was convicted of all 86 charges on 3 May 2010. He was found guilty of murder for directly killing seven people, conspiracy to commit murder for the deaths of the 166 people killed in the three-day terror siege, waging war against India, causing terror, and of conspiracy to murder two high-ranking police officers. On 6 May 2010, he was sentenced to death by hanging.However, he appealed his sentence at high court.On 21 February 2011, the Bombay High Court upheld the death sentence of Kasab, dismissing his appeal.
USA - The LeT operative David Headley in his testimony before a Chicago court during co-accused Tahawwur Rana's trial revealed that Mumbai Chabad House was added to the list of targets for surveillance given by his Inter Services Intelligence handler Major Iqbal, though the Oberoi hotel, one of the sites attacked, was not originally on the list. On June 10, 2011, Tahawwur Rana was acquitted of plotting the 2008 Mumbai attacks, but was held guilty on two other charges.
Pakistan - Indian and Pakistani police have exchanged DNA evidence, photographs and items found with the attackers to piece together a detailed portrait of the Mumbai plot. Police in Pakistan have arrested seven people, including Hammad Amin Sadiq, a homeopathic pharmacist, who arranged bank accounts and secured supplies. Sadiq and six others begin their formal trial on 3 October 2009 in Pakistan, though Indian authorities say the prosecution stops well short of top Lashkar leaders.Still there is not enough progress in pakistan court against 26/11 accused.
Reasons of delay in 7/11:-
The attack of 26/11 was targeted on people of elite class (except kama hospital & CST although it was not planned earlier) , terrorists plan was to target places with huge gathering tourists & high class people in Mumbai , India had to react very quickly and correctly and so they did as whole of world was watching them , results are out for everyone to see . however in case of 7/11 , it was the common people traveling in trains were attacked. How many would ask questions against governments sluggish act because India as a country always forgets such attacks & continues to live with such fear. Be it Ahmedabad , Jaipur , Delhi etc , results are the same.
"The accused are not punished yet. They call us in the court and ask have you got the money and all. The accused there laugh at us. They should be punished not only punished but hanged till death," Hansraj Kanojia, 7/11 victim said.
